There are two bronze Griffins at each side of the entrance to Lillian H. Smith Library, 239 College Street. They were built by Ludzer Vandermolen after designs by the architect Phillip H. Carter (1995). Interestingly, there are many smaller animals such as a monkey or lizard buried in the larger lion and eagle. There’s also an owl towards the west end of the building.
