This fountain was carved
out of one solid block of granite from the mountain near the town of Ravoir,
Canton Valais, Switzerland, in the year 1912. Placed in the town
square it served since then as a source of fresh water and the centre of
social life.
Union Bank of Switzerland,
formed in 1912, through a merger of the Bank of Winterthur and the Toggenbrucker
Bank, is proud to bring this symbol of communication and strength to Canada.
September 1989.
