Static Meeting on May 6, 2008 This "Show and Tell" was the last one before the summer. The attendance was very good and the hosts Marg and Norm Perkins looked after the well being of us all as always. ![]() ![]()
Jim Rutledge started out with his latest project which he started: the "H.M.C.S. Haida". Right now working on the superstructure it probably will take him a few more months to complete it all especially with the precision he he puts in his work. ![]() ![]() ![]()
Ian Ferguson finished his Thames launch and it looks just great. We all applauded him for his great work. ![]() As always, David Kaechele came up with a tiny novelty which put a smile on everybody's face: the "Barbary Pirate". As you can see by the hand holding it - it is small, colourful and perfect.
Lloyd Pierce demonstrated his skills to put ships into light bulbs. It is just amazing to see these tiny works of art in a light bulb and listening to the procedure it takes to go through all the different steps of doing this. We will hear more at the General Meeting at the end of this month about it all. He showed four ships including the "Endeaver" and the "Constitution". ![]() ![]() ![]()

Dave nelson is working on a new smaller scale of his favourite ship the "Nancy". ![]()
Michael Ng, famous for his ships of card stock, started a BC ferry. It is symmetrical, back to front, and has still the passenger deck missing. The cars are on two levels and drive in one end and out the other. ![]()
The other boat pictured here is also in the works and will take him according to his estimate about two years to complete, the "Queen Victoria"
It was a great evening. Thank you Marg for the coffee and snacks and for having us. Last modified on May 23, 2008 |
